Getting To Denmark from Perth By Car

The most direct route by road from Perth to Denmark or Albany is 420 km. This is the inland road heading south along the Albany Highway. From from Perth take the Albany Highway to Armadale on the outskirts of the city. From here it is a 4 hrs drive plus 1/2 hour break. Its a very straight easy drive with only small towns along the way.

If you wish to reach Denmark via this route, you need to turn off right at Mt. Barker. from this point it is 60 km to Denmark.

The route along the coast via Bunbury will allow you to take in more of the Southwest tourist region, but is considerably longer in terms of driving time. It takes from 7 to 9 hours and passes through many towns and forests along the way.

Car Parking

Cars can be left in the car park at our premises at Blue Wren Travellers'' Rest in Denmark for the duration of the tour for no charge. This is at the owner's risk, but we have not had any problems with theft or vandalism in this location.

The Easyrider BusEasyrider Backpacker Tours

Easyrider Backpacker Tours operate an Jump On Jump Off service around the southwest of Western Australia. You can buy a ticket valid for 3 months and then get off and back on again at any town along the route. For around $200 this is an excellent way to see the rest of this corner of the state at a reasonable cost, and take in this tour en route. The buses usually run 3 times per week so it's easy to get off at Denmark and pick the bus up again in Albany.

It's big advantage over the TransWA coach is that it takes in so many of the sites in between the towns. The bus will take 3 days to tour around the southwest, and each day it takes you to all the scenic spots and attractions. So if you are not in a hurry, this is a great option.
